FAQ for Members

Answers to questions about how to update a user / member Society’s information on the ICIAM website:
 
  1. How do I get an account, if I am not a member, but would like to be updated with ICIAM news and receive Dianoia (the ICIAM newsletter)?
    You do not need an ICIAM account to subcribe to Dianoia. Simply go to http://www.iciam.org/dianoia and you enter your email at the bottom and click on "Subscribe".
     
  2. How to get a new user account? (For those who do not have one already)
    In the home page of the website, go to LOGIN, click on I WANT TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT and then proceed to create the account. Make sure you fill in all three parts of the form (see left menu bar): Personal, Application, and Contact details. The click "Create new account" at the bottom.

    If your account is not approved within the next 24 hours, please send an email to the ICIAM secretary leyffer@anl.gov to notify us of the account creation.
     

  3. How to correct or complete the information concerning my personal user account?
    Login and use the tool EDIT. Finish by saving your changes.
     
  4. How to change or retrieve my password?
    Click on LOGIN on the top right of iciam.org . In the login page click on REQUEST NEW PASSWORD and follow the instructions.
     
  5. Who can correct or complete the information about a member Society?
    Only the Editor of the Society can change information (see below on how to change the editor). This person is chosen by the Society. It can be its President, one of its Representatives, or another person (IT person, etc) linked to the Society and whom the Society trusts. This person has to have a user account and he/she should take care of updating the information about the Society regularly. In particular any change concerning the President or the Representatives should be implemented as soon as possible after it happens.
     
  6. How do I designate the Editor of a member Society?
    If you have already a user account, go to the Society’s page and click on the CHANGE THE EDITOR tab at the top. There you should be given the choice of proposing a new Editor for your Society. If this person does not have a user account yet, then a user account has to be created first, so that this person appears in the list of eligible persons (all users). Finish by saving your changes (click on the button SUBMIT TO ICIAM). Once an officer has reviewed the change you will receive an email to confirm the change.

    If your account is not approved within the next 24 hours, please send an email to the ICIAM secretary leyffer@anl.gov to notify us of the account creation.
     

  7. How does the Editor of a Society correct or complete the information regarding the Society?
    On the main page of the Society, the Editor (and only he/she) has access to the EDIT tool in this page. Click on EDIT and proceed. Do not forget to save changes before leaving the page!
    To change the address, the president or the representative(s) or the society, the editor edits the page of the society, goes to "Contact" in the left column,  and then makes de changes.  In order to change the president or the representatives, first their accounts have to be created (they must be users of the website) and then they have to be chosen in the correspondent fields in the Contact page of the society. 
    END THE CHANGES BY SAVING THEM!
     
  8. How do I cancel my account or my subscription to Dianoia?
    Go to your account page (logon or click on your name in the top-right corner). You can unsubscribe from Dianoia by clicking on newsletter, and un-selecting the box next to Dianoia. To cancel your account, scroll to the bottom of your account page, and click on "Cancel account".
