The International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics

The International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) is a worldwide organisation for professional applied mathematics societies, and for other societies with a significant interest in industrial or applied mathematics. The Council works to advance the applications of mathematics in all parts of the world.

During the Covid-19 epidemic, mathematics is playing an important role worldwide in the modeling of the epidemic's evolution, and in guiding decision makers in their response. A glimpse of these important contributions of our community can be found HERE.

The ICIAM Congresses, held every 4 years, are run under the auspices of the Council.

ICIAM awards five major scientific prizes at the opening of the ICIAM Congresses. List of the prize winners for the 2019 ICIAM Prizes

ICIAM is a Scientific Partner of the Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA), and a Scientific Associate of the International Science Council (ISC).

ICIAM also provides support for attendance at conferences in/from developing countries.
