ICIAM was one of the partners of the global project 'A Global Approach to the Gender Gap in Mathematical, Computing and Natural Sciences: How to Measure It, How to Reduce It', supported by the International Council for Science (ICSU, 1931-2017) and then the International Science Council (ISC, 2018-present).
A number of international organizations which took part in the project, and among them ICIAM, established the Standing Committee for Gender Equality in Science (SCGES) in 2020.
