Congresses

The International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) is held every four years under the auspices of the International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. This is the key ICIAM event.

These congresses feature four distinct ingredients:

  1. Invited speakers selected by a distinguished international scientific committee under the control of the council;
  2. Minisymposia on specific topics organised by eminent scientists from around the world;
  3. Papers submitted by individuals in response to a call for these;
  4. Additional highlights decided by the conference organisers, such as special industry days, round table discussions, and highlighted minisymposia;
  5. Embedded meetings, giving societies the opportunity to integrate within the congress an event entirely on their own.

The Congresses attract a large number of active mathematicians, as well as post-doctoral fellows, Ph.D. students, and others at the beginning of their careers. ICIAM aims to support the participation of mathematicians from developing countries
