1) Presidential letters
All letters by the president to the Presidents and Representatives of Member Societies of ICIAM will be stored at the restricted area of the iciam webpage
/repiciam/
These letters will be numbered. This is now Nr. 2. Nr. 1 was the wellcome letter of 3 October 2007.
2) Call for bid for ICIAM 2015
Enclosed you find the description of the 'Bid Process for ICIAM 2015' and the 'Rules concerning the application for an ICIAM congress'.

In brief the Officers propose to the board to rise the license fee to
USD 32'000. The initial application has to be done at the Board Meeting in
Vancouver on 12 April 2008. The final detailed application has to be handed in by e-mail no later than 31 October 2008. NOTE: This is EARLIER as announced in my my wellcome letter.

3) Support for attendance at conferences in/from developing countries
It is very urgent that you publicise this call for applications by conference organisers to obtain support for participants from developing countries and regions. We need to have the applications by
8 April 2008 in order to be able to make decisions at the Board meeting in Vancouver on 12 April. We rise the level of support to at most USD 3'500
for a conference.

4) Board meeting in Vancouver 12 April 2008

The Hotel is located at the harbour close to Stanley Park and about 15 min walking from the congress venue.
The Board meeting starts at 9 am and ends at 6 pm on Saturday 12 April.
There will be a joint dinner on Saturday 12 April.
Jo-Anne Rockwood has made reservations for us. You will be provided with
a confirmation code to make your personal reservation.

For those who come in early on Friday 11 April there will be the possibility to get an presentation of MITACS on Friday afternoon. Details will follow.
5) Agenda for the Board meeting
If you want to rise a special topic at the board meeting it would be now
time to inform me so I can prepare with the officers the agenda.
6) Check and update information of your society on our website
As many societies have presidents and officers whose term end at
the end of a year it would be good if you inform us on all the
changes which happened in your society. Please use this moment
to quickly check on our website whether the information displayed is still
