The officers will discuss the result and also consider the discussion
of the Board meetings in Vancouver 2011 and Delhi 2010.

Fitt on possible omissions, clarifications and corrections.

6) Blog by ICIAM IMU working group on Journal Ranking and Pricing
At the board meeting in Vancouver it was decided to create a blog concerning the
Report of the Working Group on Journal Ranking and Pricing, WGJRP. In the meantime
the EC of IMU has decided to participate in this blog. ICIAM and IMU have
discussed the moderation group. It consists of Doug Arnold, Carol Hutchins, Nalini Joshi,
Peter Olver, Fabrice Planchon and Tao Tang, with Peter Olver as chair.
The technical set up of the blog is finished and we can go online in a few days.
Your society should advertise the blog and made the report by the
Working Group on Journal Ranking and Pricing public. The blog will be put on the
ICIAM and the IMU website and you should make link form your website.
There will also be a cover note by Ingrid Daubechies, president of IMU and myself.
(see cover note jrb.txt)
Note that at the present the blog should focus on the report from the WGJRP.
However in the near future extensions to other topics are planned.

8) Thanks, welcome of new president and farewell
At his point I would like to thank Professor Li Ta of CSIAM who was a member at large
officer for 8 years for the his contributions to our society. His term will end and we shall
miss his wise advice and his continuing support. He had invited us generously for a
board meeting to Shanghai in 2006 and an officer meeting this year. We wish to him all the
best and since ICIAM 2015 will be in Beijing I am sure we shall meet many times in the
future.
I am very happy to welcome Tom Mitsui of JSIAM as the new member at large officer. He has
been a board member and has already served for ICIAM in many functions.
Let me take this opportunity to thank also the Congress Director of ICIAM 2011 in Vancouver,
Arvind Gupta and his team for their great job they have done.
I will step down as president in less than a week and hence I would like to thank all of you
and my fellow officers for the excellent collaboration. It has been interesting and
rewarding for me to serve. I am sorry that I left so many unfinished business to
my successor Prof. Barbara Keyfitz. I wish to her all the best for her 4 years
as president and that she succeeds in what she is planing and hoping for ICIAM. I myself, the
fellow officers will support her and i am sure so will you. I wish all the best to Barbara.
