About the ISC
ICIAM is a Categorie 1 full member since 2022 (and has been an ICSU member since 2011).
The International Science Council (ISC) is a non-governmental organization with a unique global membership that brings together
- 45 Scientific disciplinary bodies, such as associations, unions and other organizations, that are devoted to the practice and promotion of scientific endeavour
- 146 Academies of sciences, research councils and analogous scientific bodies representing a broad spectrum of scientific fields and disciplines on a national, territorial or regional level
- 60 Affiliated Members, including international scientific federations and societies, as well as young academies and associations
The founding General Assembly of ISC took place in Paris on July 3-5, 2018. ISC was born from the merge of ICSU and ISSC.
News and announcements from the ISC can be found at the ISC webpage and many interesting reports in its Publications page. ISC publishes a monthly newsletter, and a Global Science TV channel and has a very active committee dealing with Freedoms and Responsibilities in Science.
