Dear Presidents and Representatives of ICIAM Member Societies,
ICIAM has been in contact with a group of institutions who are organizing the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD) under the auspices of UNESCO and the UN in 2022. The Officers believe that it would be beneficial for the applied mathematics community if ICIAM became a full partner in this event. To this end, the Officers propose the following motion:
Motion: The Board approves ICIAM's partnership in the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development, and authorizes the Officers to spend Euros 2000 to support this activity.

We would also like to remind you that the deadline for nominating the next ICIAM President is August 15th.
