Dear Presidents and Representatives of ICIAM member societies,
At the last ICIAM board meeting held in Glasgow at Sept 3rd, 2022, we approved Professor Barbara Wohlmuth
as chair of the Scientific Programme Committee(SPC) of ICIAM 2027 which will be held in The Hague, the
Netherlands in 2027. One of the main tasks for the next ICIAM Board meeting (Tokyo, 26 August 2023) will be
to discuss about the composition of the SPC of ICIAM 2027.
The rules for the SPC say that member societies are also associated to the process by suggesting names for the SPC.
Then, taking into consideration the suggestions, the chair of the SPC and the director of the congress together with
the ICIAM Officers, will make a proposal to the Board.
Therefore, I am writing to ask you to make suggestions for possible members of the SPC of ICIAM 2027.
In order to see the variety of topics that should be represented in the list of speakers, please find enclosed a list of topics
that we think represents the variety and scientific scope of ICIAM and its congresses. At the website of ICIAM
( /scientific-programme-committees )
you can find the list of members of past SPCs (in order to avoid them). You can also find
the list of past invited speakers to the ICIAM congresses at ICIAM webiste ( /invited-speakers ) .
As required by the By-laws of ICIAM, the SPC should be balanced with respect to geography, discipline and gender.
Please send your proposals by replying to this message by the 10th of Feburary, 2023 at latest.
