The curtain of the 10th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics
is going to be unveiled on August 21st, 2023, which is only slightly more than one month
from now. It is expected that about 5000 (five thousand) participants will attend this Congress,
which makes it the biggest ICIAM congress in the history of ICIAM since its birth in 1987.
The opening ceremony of ICIAM-2023 will be held in the morning of July 21st, at which we
will award the 6 ICIAM prizes. The 5-day long Congress will have a very rich scientific
programme, including 27 invited lectures, 6 ICIAM prize lectures, and the OTT lecture,
together with many minisyposia, contributed talks and poster presentations. Embedded meetings
by ICIAM's member societies (such as SIAM, JSIAM and CSIAM) will be organized during
the Congress, and public lectures will be arranged by the local organizing committee.
In addition, the Congress also contains an industryl day. I am sure participants will
enjoy the Congress and benifit from it.
In addition to the scientific activities, two business meetings will also be held. The
Meeting of Presidents of Member Societies is arranged from 9.00AM to 12:45PM
on August 20, 2023, in Waseda Unviersity. The ICIAM Board Meeting will be held at
9:00AM-18:00PM, on August 26th, 2023 in the Waseda University Nishi-Waseda Campus.
I hope that all our member societies will send representatives to the
Meeting of Presidents of Member societies, and to the Board Meeting.
