Under its new governance structure, the International Science Council has a Nominations and Elections Committee, comprising 11 members, that recruits candidates to serve on the ISC Governing Board. This committee itself was selected by the current Governing Board from nominations by ISC member societies, and then voted on by the members.
ICIAM is pleased to announce that Maria J. Esteban, whose nomination was put forward by ICIAM and the IMU and supported by the IUPAP (Physicists) and the IUPAC (Chemists), has been elected to this important committee.
Maria is a senior researcher emerita at CNRS; she is a former President of ICIAM and currently chairs ICIAM's ISC Committee. She is also a Fellow of ISC, as well as a former President of SMAI and has served on many advisory boards both in Europe and worldwide. Her research area is analysis and partial differential equations.
