Welcome to the July issue of ICIAM Dianoia - Volume 8 Issue 3. In this issue you will find much news about what ICIAM's member societies are doing to remain active and communicate with their communities in the midst of the global pandemic. There are also statements on combatting racism and discrimination worldwide and in the scientific community, and, on a more cheerful note, reminders of the success of ICIAM 2019 and of continuing initiatives connecting mathematics and industry. In the northern hemisphere it is summer and many holiday plans are now constrained, but here are good wishes for enjoying whatever vacation you can assemble, and hopes that by the October issue of ICIAM Dianoia the world may be finding a way out of this disaster.
