The IMA was a founder member of ICIAM (International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics) in 1987 together with GAMM, SIAM, and SMAI.  This consortium of mathematical societies now has 54 members from all regions of the world.  ICIAM hosts a large congress every four years.  The first was held in Paris in 1987 and the IMA hosted one in Edinburgh in 1999. The next congress will be in Tokyo in  August 2023.

ICIAM Board meeting.  Saturday 26 September

The ICIAM Board meeting was held online, chaired by the President Ya-xiang Yuan, with the support of the secretary Sven Leyffer, who inter alia conducted the online voting, and Maria Esteban, the previous President, who organized the posting of the presentations. This meeting replaced the originally planned Board meeting that would have been hosted by the IMA and held at Strathclyde University.
